HS2 Notification: Continued single lane closures on and around Northway Island from 21 December 2020

We are remodelling and improving sections of the existing road network in the area, and constructing new routes on HS2 land, which will connect to four new highway bridges. These road improvements will ensure that when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, the local road network is fit for purpose.

This is an ongoing programme of works, which commenced in March 2020 in the Interchange area.

Reduced, temporary traffic measures will remain in place in the area throughout the Christmas period, and then measures will increase in the new year. We will continue to install our traffic measures during daytime hours as traffic movements in the area remain low, however if traffic movements increase substantially, restricted working hours will be reintroduced.

Although LM will not carry out any physical works in the Interchange area from Monday 21 December 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021, 24-hour single lane closures will remain in place along short sections of Northway, and the A452 and B4438, for health and safety purposes.

From Monday 4 January 2021, single lane closures will be installed on and around Northway Island for three weeks. Our working hours will be 7am to 6pm, but some traffic measures will remain in place 24-hours. We’ll work Monday to Friday, however we may extend our works into the weekend if required. Temporary traffic lights will continue to be used intermittently along the A452 during our work.

You will still be able to travel along all routes in both directions.
