HS2 Notification: Notice of overnight lane closures on the M42 between junctions 6 & 7 commencing from 10th August 2020

During 2020, we will build four new highways bridges in the area that surrounds the future HS2 Interchange Station. In the future, these bridges will connect the current road network to new routes we will create over the next two years. After we install the first of these bridges over the M42 in early August , we need to carry out works such as putting in new street lighting alongside the motorway. To conduct these safely, we need to install temporary overnight lane closures.

We are likely to put in place temporary overnight lane closures from Monday 10 August, for approximately 4 weeks, on the M42 between junctions 6 and 7.

We will not work every evening across the 4 weeks. This is because our works are dependent on the relevant consents being granted and the availability of road space, which may affect when we carry out our planned traffic measures. When we do work, varying lanes will be closed along junctions 6 & 7.

During these works commencing on the 10th of August you will still be able to travel along the M42 in both directions.
