HS2 Works Notification: Works on the Northway and B4438 moving to daytime working hours

We previously notified you about a series of temporary overnight lane closures on Northway and the B4438, which would commence on Monday 23 March. Originally, these works were scheduled to take place overnight. However, as traffic movements are currently reduced due to measures in place to combat Coronavirus, we are changing to daytime working . This will remove the need for some future traffic measures, and help to minimise disruption when daily routines resume.

We will now install daytime lane closures from Monday 23 March for approximately 4 weeks on Northway and the B4438. On occasions, temporary traffic lights will be in place on Northway.

We will be working on site from 6:00 am to 18:00 pm , but our traffic measures will be in place 24-hours a day. We will work Monday to Friday, however across the 4 weeks, we may extend our working hours into the weekend. During each day of our works, varying lanes will be closed to avoid overburdening the network. This schedule is subject to change depending on site and weather conditions, and evolving measures to combat Coronavirus. However, we’ll keep you informed of any adjustments.

For more detail, please see the full notification of the works on Northway and the B4438, including a map showing the location of the works here works notification .

During 2020, we will improve and expand sections of the existing road network in the area, and construct new routes on HS2 land. These road improvements will ensure that when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, the network is fit for purpose.
