Temporary, 24-hour traffic lights on the Northway extended to Friday 26 March 2021

We are remodelling and improving sections of the existing road network in the area, and constructing new routes on HS2 land, which will connect to four new highway bridges. These road improvements will ensure that when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, the local road network is fit for purpose.

As part of this programme, we installed temporary, 24-hour traffic lights on a short section of Northway on Friday 12 March to safely undertake utility activities. Originally , these works were scheduled to conclude in one week, however due to unforeseen circumstances, these traffic lights will now remain in place until Friday 26 March.

These traffic measures will continue to be carried out in conjunction with a single lane closure along Northway.

These temporary traffic measure will be carried out alongside continued phased, single lane closures on and around Northway Island .

The map below outlines the location of the temporary traffic lights and accompanying single lane closure in orange.

If you have any questions about these works, or about HS2, please contact our HS2 Helpdesk team on 08081 434 434 or email hs2enquiries@hs2.org.uk .
