HS2 Notification: Temporary weekend closure on a short section of the B4438 from Friday 26 March to Monday 29 March 2021, and temporary, 24-hour traffic lights on the Northway from Friday 12 March 2021 for one week

Temporary weekend closure on a short section of the B4438 from Friday 26 March to Monday 29 March 2021

We are remodelling and improving sections of the existing road network in the area, and constructing new routes on HS2 land, which will connect to four new highway bridges. These road improvements will ensure that when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, the local road network is fit for purpose.

As part of this programme, we will install a temporary, weekend road closure on a short section of the B4438 from 8pm on Friday 26 March, to 5am on Monday 29 March.

Our contractors may be on site up to an hour before and after those times to set up and close down the site. A signed diversion route will be in place for drivers during the weekend closure. If work progresses faster than expected, we will reopen the B4438 earlier if possible.

Temporary, 24-hour traffic lights on the Northway from Friday 12 March 2021 for one week

As part of our highways programme, we will also install temporary, 24-hour traffic lights on a short section of Northway from Friday 12 March for one week to safely undertake utility activities. These traffic measures will be carried out in conjunction with a single lane closure along Northway.

These temporary traffic measure will be carried out alongside continued phased, single lane closures on and around Northway Island.

The map below outlines the location of the temporary traffic lights and accompanying single lane closure in orange.
