Temporary traffic measures in the Interchange area in June and July 2021 including lane closures and 24-hour traffic lights at various locations

As part of our preparation works for future construction of the HS2 Interchange Station and railway route, we are undertaking roadside vegetation clearance and environmental surveys, and remodelling and improving sections of the existing road network in the area . To safely carry out our works, we will install traffic measures when necessary.

Last month , we informed you that we would install temporary 24-hour traffic lights on a short section of the A452 from Monday 24 May for one week. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, this work was postponed. We will now install these temporary 24-hour traffic lights on a short section of the A452 from Monday 28 June to Tuesday 6 July.

Subject to obtaining the relevant consents, we will also install the following traffic measures in July:

• Temporary lane closures from 9.30am to 3.30pm each weekday, between Thursday 8 July to Friday 16 July, along a short section of the A446 northbound near Northway Island

• Temporary, phased lane closures from 9.30am to 3.30pm each weekday between Monday 12 July to Thursday 15 July, and Monday 19 July to Tuesday 20 July, along sections of the A446, A452 and A45 near Stonebridge Island

These traffic measures will be carried out in conjunction with a new direction of travel for road users around Northway Island, which commenced on Monday 24 May .
